This project is a tribute to the situation of refugees who have fled their countries and the challenges they face in being accepted and settled in other nations. As Saadi, the Persian poet of the 14th century, said:
“Human beings are members of a whole, In creation of one essence and soul If one member is afflicted with pain, Other members uneasy will remain”
This poem is inscribed on a plaque at the entrance of the United Nations building in New York.
